A Care for a Community Garden

Girl Scout Black Diamond Troop 10459 takes care of a community garden and has some tips for anyone working in their garden!

Their tips are:

  • Make sure your plants have plenty of room

  • Remove any rotten or diseased plants

  • Water your plants daily

  • Check on the plants often

  • Make sure they have the right amount of sunlight

  • Plant them at the right times

  • Dig holes and bury the seeds

  • And lastly, add a scarecrow to keep away the birds!

These girls have been working hard all summer to grow and care for their plants and have ended up creating a beautiful garden and learning important skills. If you’re interested you should grow a garden too! Gardens have so many good influences on the environment and it’s easy for you to make your own!
